TREATMENT OPTIONS

Combining traditional and holistic treatments offers a powerful, comprehensive approach to fighting cancer that uses the best of both worlds, supporting the body throughout the healing process. Traditional treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation aim to eliminate cancer cells, forming the foundation of most cancer care plans. At the same time, holistic therapies can play a crucial supportive role by reducing side effects, boosting the immune system, and enhancing emotional well-being. Holistic therapies have shown promise in supporting the body’s natural defenses and repurposed medications may be a helpful as an adjunct therapy. When used together, traditional and holistic approaches offer a balanced and empowering path to healing—addressing not just the disease, but the whole person in body, mind, and spirit.

Prescription Nausea Treatment

Anti-Nausea prescriptions can be life savers, especially if it keeps you from throwing up for hours. For at home relief your practitioner may prescribe a wearable patch that you change every few days, such as Scopolamine or a "rescue" pill that is dissolvable, like Ondansetron (Zofran). Both come with side effects, such as sleepiness.

Medical Grade Skin Care

Medical grade regimens can really help your skin bounce back from the ravages of cancer treatment. Cancer medications can have the following effects on your skin:

  • Dryness
  • Peeling
  • Rashes
  • Loss of elasticity
  • Slows down cell turnover, making the skin appear dull and aged

Paying extra attention to your skin during and after your treatment can help you look and feel more like your pre-cancer self.

Note: If you are on Chemotherapy, you will need to gently exfoliate often.

Looking in the mirror and not being dismayed by the changes you see can boost your morale and help you stay positive during this time. Some people might dismiss this, but it is important to NOT LOSE YOURSELF during this time.

Medical Grade Skin Care can be one tool to even out skin tone, reduce acne, help with fine lines and wrinkles, rosacea and more. ZO is the brand of products Noelle uses to keep her skin's moisture barrier intact and skin feeling more normal while battling cancer.

Other tools such as Medical Grade Red Light Therapy can synergistically help keep what you had before the diagnosis. Because Chemo damages both the cancer and healthy cells, our skin is prone to look aged during and after treatment. Red light therapy is an easy, relaxing, and effective way to combat this.

Sunblock is also extremely important at all times, but especially when you may be on photosensitive medications or supplements. This is Noelle's favorite brand of Medical Grade mineral sunblock, and is great for men and women, coming in 3 formulas: Clear, Tinted, and Deep Tinted.
